Reviews Summary

Visitors find Krujë Castle and its Old Bazaar to be a charming step back in time, praised for its historical significance and picturesque cobblestone streets. While many appreciate the atmosphere and friendly shopkeepers, some note that souvenir shops can be repetitive with mass-produced items. Finding truly unique, authentic crafts requires a bit more searching, but the overall experience is considered worthwhile, especially when combined with a visit to the castle.

"Visited the Old Bazaar in Kruja while exploring the area around the castle. The setting itself is beautiful—a narrow cobblestone street lined with traditional wooden shops, giving off a very old-world charm. It definitely feels like stepping back in time, and the atmosphere is calm and pleasant for a stroll.

That said, I found most of the souvenir shops to be very repetitive. A lot of stalls had the same mass-produced items—fridge magnets, flags, generic trinkets, and similar textiles. It felt like the charm and uniqueness of the place was kind of lost in all the touristy clutter.

There were, however, a few old-school shops that stood out—places where you could tell the owners cared about the craft or had been there for generations. I especially liked browsing through one with antique tools and another with handmade copper items. If you’re into more authentic, locally made things, you’ll have to look a little harder—but they’re there.

Overall, it’s worth walking through if you’re already visiting the castle, but I wouldn’t go out of my way just for the bazaar. Nice for the atmosphere, less so for the shopping."
