Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the rustic charm and unique architectural features of Sant Miquel de Prats Church, particularly its bell tower and pointed arch entrance. The beautiful natural setting is also a highlight, making it a peaceful stop. However, the church is not open for interior visits, which is a key point for those expecting to go inside.

"The church is rudimentarily built with humble materials. Due to the slope of the land, many of the side walls and the apse are partially buried. The nave has a rectangular floor plan with sturdy walls (1 meter thick) and a semicircular apse on the eastern side. On the main façade, facing west, where the entrance door is located, two elements stand out: the pointed pumice arch at the entrance and the double-gabled bell tower with a semicircular arch. The first documentary evidence of this church dates from 1312, although some elements, such as the apse, possibly correspond to the Romanesque period. The rest of the building seems to date from a later period, probably the late 13th century. The entire complex was restored in the early 1980s."

"Another church in the parish of Canillo. This one isn't open to visitors, so you can only see its exterior. This is a very small church, as there would be very few people in the town. It's in a very beautiful setting, and I'd highlight its bell tower. Also, while you're there, you can visit the seven-armed cross very close by. We found it erected on the old road that runs from Canillo to Meritxell. Here are some photos."

"Beautiful to visit and do the canal path, well marked and for the whole family that diverges between the parishes of Canillo and Encamp."
