What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Puente Transbordador Nicolás Avellaneda to be a fascinating piece of industrial history and a unique engineering marvel, especially the rare transporter ride. However, some express concerns about safety in the surrounding areas, advising caution and daylight visits.
"The old transporter bridge, a National Historic Monument, is a colossal iron structure that was inaugurated in 1914. It was named after Nicolás Avellaneda, President of the Republic from 1878 to 1880. Over the years, it became obsolete, so it was decided to build another one more suited to the demands of growing urban traffic. Several blocks of buildings were demolished to achieve this goal.
The construction was carried out by the National Highway Administration, based on a project by architect Eduardo Rodríguez and engineer Juan Agustín Valle. When it opened in 1940, it was the largest of its kind in South America."

"Be careful, very dangerous area. We were attacked by at least 10 young people in broad daylight.
The bridge is quite interesting, but it's saver to visit the one in Bilbao."

"firstly it was good but than we met some criminals 2/5"
