What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Isla Hornos is praised for its beautiful white sand beaches and calm, warm river waters, offering a unique natural escape. However, visitors often point out the limited and early-closing on-site amenities, recommending guests bring their own food and shade.
"Incredible to see the sharpe ruggedness of the island and imagine hundreds of years of circumnavigation…"
Ruby Lougheed Yawney
"The round-trip to the island costs 10,000 pesos. They take you by boat or catamaran (you can bring your own things like a cooler, beach chairs, or umbrella). The trips are every half hour, both ways. The inn seemed shabby to me, with not much to offer, no music, and it closes at 6 p.m. (terrible since on the island you can stay until 8 p.m.). The outside of the inn was neglected, as was the walkway to the beach. The restrooms were tiny: out of three, only two worked. Don't forget an umbrella, as there's no shade and the on-site refreshments aren't enough. I wouldn't spend money to go again. In my opinion, it wasn't worth it. The beaches in Colón seem 1,000 times better to me."
Luciana Pomeraniec
"The place is a paradise, too bad about the inn. They should improve. They don't have soda. For the prices, the sandwiches should be a little more generous, and lastly, not having hot dogs at lunchtime in the middle of the season, where families with children frequent, is a bit of an oversight."
