Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning turquoise waters and breathtaking views of the Río Azul, especially from the Mirador and Cabeza del Indio. The opportunity to combine viewpoints with short hikes makes for a rewarding experience, though some note the roads can be dusty and trails challenging.

"1. Walk to this location from El Bolso. This is the best view even from the mirador in the next location.
2. The next location is cabaze del indio (indian head) - cost 300 pesos approximately. It has 2 miradors and picnic tables. For this price it is worth to stop here and do 2 short hiking of 15min each.
3. From 2 there is a trail down to estacionamiento dona rosa (dona rosa is a region and not a location - it is a path along the river azul. Don't search for a location.
The trail direction (left - there will be bushes blocking your path for 100meters; right at split; right at last split). It will lead you to a road that on Google map you will take down to dona rosa). This road that you will cross must be taken after you visit the river azul or dona rosa region (you can walk along the river for an hour but you must get back to this road that led you to the parking lot if you want to grab the bus from catarata mallin (long road). You cannot go there following the river because it is a dead end. Also, the trails along the river are not easy as dead trees block the way. The other option is to return the way back to the road you intersected after cabaze del indio or you hail someone to give you a lift back.
Enjoy!"

"Super beautiful! But I do advice to stop right before the official mirador in order to get a pure view and pictures without the fence."

Helle Emmery Fredes

"Beautiful view of the blue River. I recommend you to continue the journey to the Indian head, just a few km from the Mirador del Azul. There you can climb to the top of a mountain where you will be able to appreciate one of the best views ever!!"
