- what's the money used for? There is a toilet at Laguna Capri that's full of trash, not maintained!! (of course the Perpetrators are to blame too)
Also some parts of some trails are in mediocre condition (overgrown).

"Patagonia is generally very expensive. The entry fee for the national park in Chalten is a total ripoff.
As a foreigner you pay 45000 pesos per person for 1 day pass or 90000 pesos for a there day pass. There are two treks you can do in this national park. Both are amazing and offer some stunning views. Still, the price is a total ripoff.
NOTE: After reaching the ticket counter they told us that the three days pass can be purchased only online. They have a WIFI at the spot. The website though is only in Spanish. Note though that they have no mechanism to check your online purchased tickets!!! I realised that only after purchasing the ticket 😀.
So, be ready for ripoff feeling before you enjoy spectacular two trekks and some really stunning views!"

"As of 2024 a day use fee of $45 (per day!) has been instituted. I and most others feel that this is an exorbitant cost. This trailhead kiosk is operating 8a-6p. The road parallels some trails so do what you wish with that information.
The park service should reevaluate the cost, and provide a statement as to use of those funds."
