Reviews Summary

Parque Provincial El Chiflón is a hidden gem praised for its stunning beauty, unique wind-sculpted rock formations, and the passionate knowledge of its local guides. While infrastructure is basic and mobile signal is absent, the mandatory guided tour offers an enriching two-hour experience. Visitors highly recommend it as a worthwhile stop, especially for its natural wonders and the dedication of its guides. Reddit+1

"We went on September 21, 2025 with some friends. Although it's not a well-known place, we found both the tour and the history to be excellent. Our guide was also super friendly and cool. And the place is incredibly beautiful. It's truly worth stopping by (we stopped by on our way to Villa Unión from La Rioja)."

Gisela Terrones

"This is a little-known but highly recommended provincial park. Access is via National Route 150.
You must sign in at the tourist office at the entrance. This tour is mandatory with a guide, who can accompany you in the same vehicle as the visitor or in a separate vehicle if there is no more space in the vehicle.
As of September 20, 2025, the entrance fee and guide are $25,000 (twenty-five thousand Argentine pesos) per person. Payment can be made in cash or by bank transfer. There is no 3G, 4G, or 5G signal in the area, but the office has Wi-Fi for payment.
The tour lasts approximately two hours and consists of a partly vehicle-based hike and a partly hike to the viewpoint, a hike of medium difficulty (as the terrain is steep, rocky, and uphill).
It is recommended to bring a hat, sunscreen, and drinking water.
The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wealth of knowledge about the park and the area in general."

Matias Satelier

"It's not yet a Provincial Park because the government refused to take charge. Recently, they named it a Nature Reserve, built some offices as an entrance, and inaugurated it with a ceremony for photos and the media. A few signs inside and nothing more.
The rest is provided by the enormous will, dedication, and love for the land of the five guides who take turns every day of the week serving the public, in groups, and sharing their vast knowledge of the subject.
The visit goes more or less like this: you pay at the entrance (cash or bank transfer), you leave in a convoy of private cars along the park road, getting off at a few stops for explanations to the entire group. At the end of the road, you take a low-difficulty hike with the guide to an impressive viewpoint. You return the same way. Two hours in total.
You learn new things, you see different things, it's worth it. Infrastructure and government support are lacking."
