What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Punta Cantor is celebrated for its breathtaking natural spectacles, particularly the thrilling orca hunts and abundant marine life. Visitors rave about the raw beauty of the landscape and the chance to witness incredible animal behavior. However, the challenging gravel road and limited facilities require careful preparation.
"Amazing, we were lucky enough to go and see orcas trying to hunt. They didn't strand any whales, but they tried to hunt elephant seals for over an hour until they left."

"An unsurpassed natural spectacle. 80 km of gravel road from Puerto Pirámides, go slowly, be patient, and have a full tank of gas. If you want to see orcas, check the high tide schedule and plan to be there three hours before or three hours after; I saw them around 5 PM. At the lookout points, you can see sea lions and penguins. Binoculars are a plus. Bring a drink, a sunhat, and a jacket because it's windy. If you return at dusk, you'll see lots of animals along the road. There are tons of guanacos and birds. I saw American ostriches, hares, and foxes crossing. Having a good camera would be great; that wasn't the case for me."

"The view is beautiful; elephant seals can be seen at certain times of the year. It's interesting to check the annual cycle of the different species on the peninsula so you know what to expect."
