"The journey to black glacier is very interesting. Of the 90 some kms journey, 48 kms were on a rough, gravelled road. If you drive yourself (and not tour bus), there are several spots on the way that are out of a picture book. Several images below are from spots on the way.
The black glacier in itself is not as interesting. It is a glacier that is covered with dirt a d debris and hence black. But the surrounding mountains and the lake beneath the glacier is magnificent"

"The roads in August were decent even though it’s gravel road, but they don’t tell you or indicate in the signs that some of the walks are closed (waterfalls or other glaciers, for example). You can pay the entrance to the park in cash or they let you connect to wifi and explain kindly how to buy the tickets. The open and close the one way roads on time (sharp)."

"You have to pay to enter the national park, and they don't trll you that they close the way back from 14:00 till 16:00, and we got stuck there.
The lake is beautiful but not worth the trouble in my opinion."
