Reviews Summary

Visitors find the museum a unique opportunity to see ancient artifacts like pottery, weapons, and a mummy, offering a close look at the indigenous history of Northwest Argentina. The colonial building is also a highlight. However, some find the lack of English explanations and inconsistent staff communication detract from the experience.

"Unique opportunity to travel to the ameridian times. You can have the best and closest look of craft, burial urns, weapons, arrowheads and even a mummy belonging to the aborigines that inhabited the northwest of Argentina. One can't help being afraid that culture could be lost if something happened to this treasure. More safety measures should be taken since every article of the museum can be touched. The building is a fantastic structure typical of the colonial times, and very well maintained."

Miriam del Carmen Fernández

"Some lovely bits of pottery. Only small. Explanations in Spanish only. All free. Toilets available although not the cleanest."

Claire S

"Collection of old pots, pipes and other belongings of the Aguada people. Pretty cool to see in conjunction with the lost village in catamarca!"
