"The ecological reserve is located on the Costanera Este side, just meters from Setubal Lagoon in the city of Santa Fe. It has easy access trails and a roofed wooden terrace overlooking the reserve's inner lagoon. Ranger-style staff provide advice on the birds and animals you can see. They sell some native species that they produce in a small nursery. Highly recommended for families, suitable for children and adults. Restrooms are available."

"The place is very beautiful. A peaceful walk. I had passed by the outskirts two years ago, but to my surprise, when I went to visit yesterday, I found they had built a school right next to the reserve. I don't know who the brilliant mind was who approved its creation. But the constant noise of the students and a RESERVE are incompatible, since many animals will migrate or disappear because of this. They should have been a little more sensible. We did the walk and came across a park ranger whom we asked about a type of tree, and he gave us a wonderful explanation, adding interesting facts and being very kind."

Conservation Efforts and Challenges
Despite these challenges, the reserve continues to be a valuable green space. Rangers play a crucial role in educating visitors about the local ecosystem, including the importance of species like butterflies as pollinators. The presence of a native plant nursery further supports conservation by propagating and selling local species, allowing visitors to take a piece of the reserve's biodiversity home.
Community involvement is also evident, with past mobilizations to defend the reserve, emphasizing its importance to the local population. These efforts underscore the community's desire to protect this natural haven amidst urban development.
Visitor Experience and Practicalities
However, practical aspects can sometimes be a point of contention. Some visitors have noted inconsistencies with opening and closing times, with rangers occasionally closing earlier than officially posted or opening late, leading to frustration. The heat can also be intense, so visitors are strongly advised to wear sunscreen and hats and to plan their visit during the cooler parts of the day.
While the reserve is generally tranquil and less crowded than other similar locations, like the Costanera Sur reserve in Buenos Aires, it's important to remember it's a natural habitat. The rules against pets are in place to protect the wildlife, and sticking to designated paths helps preserve the delicate ecosystem.
