Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Valle de Uco's breathtaking landscapes, world-class wineries, and exceptional wines, making it a top destination for wine and food lovers. The majestic Andes provide a stunning backdrop, and the opportunity for rural tourism adds a layer of authentic charm. While the region is highly praised, some visitors note that booking accommodations and winery visits well in advance is crucial due to its popularity.

"This area, dotted with vineyards and surrounded by the snow-capped Andes Mountains, is the ideal setting for a romantic retreat. It's the perfect place for wine and food lovers. A real treat!"

Isabel Alejandra Grande

"Ótimas bodegas, vinhos, hotéis"

Maria Elisabete Yang

"The legendary Route 40 is the great tourist gateway that runs through the UCO Valley, comprised of the departments of San Carlos, Tunuyán, and Tupungato. It's a true postcard setting, framed between the Cordón del Plata and El Portillo mountains, with the view crowned by Cerro Tupungato, which dominates the entire area.
Along the picturesque Cerrillos road in Tupungato, the Cristo Rey viewpoint, a religious site with a giant sculpture of Jesus Christ, dominates the valley. From here, you can appreciate varied areas planted with pome and stone fruit trees, as well as aromatic herbs, alongside extensive vineyards and groves of poplar trees.
The Cordón del Plata, between the plains of Alto de Las Carreras, the site of historic Jesuit cattle ranches and currently a barley, potato, and alfalfa-producing area, is part of the Potrerillos Valley circuit (Luján de Cuyo). Along this stretch, you'll find the Chateau de Ancón, an elegant European-style castle nestled among orchards and vineyards. Later, you'll reach the town of San José and tour its ancient chapel. The imposing Quebrada del Cóndor is a magnificent place to fully enjoy a horseback ride and observe condor nests.
This area is known for the production of excellent ciders, juices, preserves, and essences, obtained from industrial establishments and high-end wineries. The Wine Routes are an exciting attraction, where gourmet cuisine paired with renowned wines, themed accommodations, and artisanal ventures combine to offer a local recipe for the most delicious tranquility.
The Historic Apple Tree, at the foot of the Cordón del Portillo, was the setting for one of the historic routes of the Army of the Andes. A notable attraction is the Return to the Homeland Monument, which commemorates the warrior's repose upon his return to Argentine soil. This site is complemented by a campsite, a fish farm, an interpretation center, and a Stations of the Cross.
Rural tourism is present throughout the area and is represented by notable routes such as Caminos de Altamira, Manos de Jaurúa, and Vieja Ruta 40, where you can take a journey back in time, to tradition, to the contact with the locals, to the life of mud-brick villages along typical streets, to rural customs and traditions with old-fashioned bars and cinemas, to centuries-old country houses with thick adobe walls, ideal for exploring tree-lined trails by bicycle, sulky, or on attractive hikes. The exchange of experiences between visitors and locals creates an unforgettable fusion of farm activities, handicrafts, and home-cooked or campfire cooking.
Every search finds an answer here, in the pleasant peace of bird watching and herds of guanacos next to lagoons and volcanoes, in the peaceful struggle of sport fishing or in the breaths of fresh air of the entire area, thus arises the experience of nature tourism in the Laguna del Diamante Reserve, with the imposing silhouette of the Maipo Volcano."
