What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Martial Glacier is praised for its stunning panoramic views of Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel, offering a rewarding hiking experience for various fitness levels. While it's not a traditional glacier, the ice accumulation and mountain scenery are captivating. The affordable access and the charming tea house at the base are significant draws for visitors.
"Hiked up here in February without any snow and it’s a really enjoyable and nice place! Views are great. There are different trails for different levels. I choose the one that arrives closer to the glacier.
From what I understand the entrance used to be free but now you need to pay 10.000 ARS to get inside. Anyway I think it’s worth it if this help to preserve the area. 😊"

"Not a true glacier anymore but three areas of ice accumulation on the mountain side. A nice hike up becoming increasingly difficult. Top part will be very tricky in more snow! Lovely views down over the city and the Beagle Channel."
Vincent Oliver
"Highly recommend. Particularly if you're a traveller on a budget. Taxi to get there is very cheap and it's free! (Unlike the national park). With the money you save on park fees and transportation you can do Canopy Ushuaia for 6,500 pesos. You'll save nearly half the money and have an even better time than in the national park (though if you have time for both you should!). The teahouse at the base isn't over priced and the food and drinks are amazing. 10/10"
