Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Salto del Tabaquillo, calling it an incredible and unique natural wonder. The trek is challenging but rewarding, with stunning waterfalls and pools. While some find it manageable without a guide, many recommend hiring one for safety and a richer experience. The chance to see local wildlife adds to its charm.

"Incredible place. Getting there from the first pot is a bit difficult. We did it without a guide on a drizzly day, and it was tough. There are sections to climb and scramble, and there's no marked trail, but it's worth it."

Antonella Merlino

"A unique experience, I would go again.
I went during this year's Carnival holidays. It's a place to go with a guide if you're going for the first time.
In Merlo, they don't let you go alone, but you can easily follow the stream alone. It's a fairly difficult activity. As I said, if you follow the river's banks, you'll get there. From my own experience, I enjoyed it more with a guide who told me about the place and also explained alternate routes.
It will take approximately 1 hour/1 hour and a half, depending on whether you stop or not. Along the way, you'll come across different waterfalls and beautiful natural scenery.
You can go at any time; normally, groups with guides leave around 1:00 PM, so if you go during those times, you may encounter more people.
Bring food and water, and enjoy.
Don't forget to keep clean; everything you bring will be brought back to you."

Jeremias Zaris

"We had to go during Easter on a rainy and cold day but the experience was impressive
Although the place is beautiful, I want to clarify that it is not at all easy to get to, since the hike up the mountain is moderate to difficult.
Yes or yes, you have to wear trekking shoes and be very careful since you have to climb the stones several times to reach the jump.
Many streams and stones must be crossed, which makes the journey quite complex.
They could offer ropes and safety elements since it is quite dangerous
The place is unique
It was a special experience"
