Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the stunning location where two oceans meet and the informative guided tours that allow access to the top of mainland Australia's tallest lighthouse. The historical significance and panoramic views are consistently highlighted as major draws. However, some feel the site has become overly commercialized with entry fees for closer access, and wish for more extensive information signage.

"Another once great (free) spot now commercialised. $20 for the family to walk closer than 200m to the lighthouse, but can't go in the light house, that will require a mortgage to be paid.....the museum has a couple interesting things, but still quite bare. Most of the info signs around the lighthouse are missing, which would be fine if it didn't cost anything...."

Frank Pellicano

"Amazing lighthouse. Great views.

Highly recommended to take the guided tour to be able to climb the 176 steps to the top of lighthouse, see the first order lens and learn about the history of the site.

The museum is full of interesting information and historical photos and artifacts.

See where the Indian and Southern oceans meet."

Nick Iles

"Nice stop to enjoy the view at the southern end of Australia. A few things to explore in the area of the lighthouse including the cabin which has plenty of information and the tour of inside the lighthouse is interesting. Tour guide was a true blue Aussie that tells some entertaining stories but the hike to the top is the only challenge on this tour. Once at the top the views are spectacular and tour guide was happy to take photos for everyone and continued to share information about the area, light house and the ocean."
