"More of an historical tour with a creepy ending... We started the tour at least 15 minutes later as we were waiting for a second group. It was fine as the meeting place was the 7D cinema and indoors, so we did escape the July cold. We proceeded from one stop to the next, each place came with the accompanying historical background and tale of apparition sightings. All but two stops were quite unsuspecting from the outside which did add to the atmosphere. Seeing as the stories (even the recent sightings), were second or third hand accounts, it didn't feel as scary but the history was somewhat entertaining. Our guide did well to build suspense but often paused to recount stories accurately and to find the right pictures to present at the right stops. One thing I am funny about is to experience tours lead by guides that are local to the area, I've always found them to add to the feeling of authenticity. I am a keen fan of doing walking tours to orient yourself around new cities and learn their history. I have done many ghost tours in Aus and Europe (not so humble brag), they're a fun activity to do with friends, are a good way of testing your fear threshold and allow you to see another (more sinister) side of a city. Price: fair. Walking pace: easy, plenty of breaks. Scenery: 2 stops were particularly grand and impressive, 2 were creepy. Interaction: some activity to keep engaged. Group size: we were a group of 4 which seemed a good size walking between narrow footpaths etc. Glad that other group of 10 didn't show up as that would've really impacted our experience. Stories: historical but entertaining. 3.5 stars as it came with an awesome recommendation for breakfast."

Listening to someone talk about old buildings for hours is not fun and the only reason I didn't walk off was because of the promise that the end of the tour is fantastic... It was a slightly underground concrete bunker with graffiti. Would never recommend, complete waste of money."

"Honestly it was pretty subpar. We had organised this just on Sunday and we had done a ghost tour the Saturday night before in Launceston which was great, it was a tour of about 15 and a great time.
The tour in Battery Point however wasn’t. We were all sent a text to be there 15 minutes early which we were. We had a group of 6, me + my boyfriend and a family of 4. Our tour guide, William I think? He got there 5 minutes before the meeting time after us being there already ten minutes. He seemed a bit over it, like he couldn’t be bothered. Considering we had such a small group we thought this might be even better than the one we had in Launceston as less likely to have hold ups from waiting on others and easier to convey the stories, etc. Not really the case though.
The stories were very half hearted, very much ‘this could’ve happened’ or ‘this is what we hope to believe was the outcome/ending to their story’ I know there’s uncertainty but jeez you’re conducting a ghost tour, ironic to say but liven it up a bit! Definitely not the ‘mad dog’ people have described him as in another review
We weren’t allowed to do the tunnels under the city which honestly was what we paid for, we understood that due to recent rain there was a hazard and the guide said he’d tell us some additional stories since we couldn’t do it so we’d thought that’d make up for it but no. We sat on a ledge for about 5 minutes with some story about a convict in a church who sailed off and he sent for his lover to join him overseas, then it cuts to that we don’t know what happened to her but ‘we hope they found each other, died and their spirits now live in that church over there’ like What. Is. That.
To top it off, the tour finished with 20 minutes to go. Not that we did our last stop with twenty minutes but we got dropped to our meeting spot 20 minutes early before finishing time. We got there 15 minutes early with it starting 5 minutes prior to the allocated start time then finished pretty much a half an hour early AND we didn’t get to do the tunnels, I would’ve figured since he ‘was going to tell additional stories’ that it would’ve at least finished on time, not us be back at the meeting spot before it was even meant to end. Definitely wouldn’t do this again and was a waste of the $63.60 I spent. Would’ve rathered put that money towards a visit to the Richmond prison if I’d known it was going to be so rubbish. I’d ask for a refund but based on the reviews, I can see that would be like pulling teeth"
