⛺️ Camping Price Increase NSW Nat Parks. The proposal does not outline prices for each individual campground (it should though!). Thredbo diggings has shelters (I have footage from last year). It is therefore a Tier 3 site ($54 a night in high season). UPDATE: Reference the paragraph above; NPWS just advised me that they class Thredbo Diggings as Tier 2 (despite the fact that it has shelters). I...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Thredbo Diggings Campground's stunning natural beauty, particularly its location by the Thredbo River. It's praised as a great spot for families and nature lovers, offering a peaceful escape with opportunities for fishing and bushwalking. However, the lack of amenities like showers and tap water, along with the steep access road, requires careful preparation.

"The Diggings is a fantastic location, and the camping area is pristine, too. It is a great spot to bring the kids. They can ride their bike and play with other kids on the site. It has bikes and walking track available. Moving water to go fishing 🎣. There is a shared public toilet, very handy for people who don't want to rough it too much. Make sure you get national parks pass before you head to the camping ground."

"A beautiful quiet little campground right by the Snowy River. Most sites have a fire pit with some also having a grill plate on the fire pit.
There are two drop toilets that were kept clean during my visit. No showers or other amenities. Close to both Jindabyne and Thredbo."

"Another stunning National Parks campground in the snowy mountains!

We popped in to scout future locations for camping trips and would happily come back here. There are an array of different campgrounds and sites for caravans, camper and and tents. There are a couple of larger bays which would be suited for large vans as well. I have included a photo of the site map (excuse the car engine running in the video). There are a couple of long drop toilets as well.

The run into the campground is tight and steep; nothing too silly, you just need to be careful. There are pull back lanes in case people get blocked.

Remember you need to boil all water and take all rubbish with you at this campground.

You need to make a booking for the sites and there is also Nationals Parks access fees to consider as well.

That said, awesome campground, we would happily be back."
