Visitors rave about the breathtaking panoramic views of Melbourne from Doncaster Hill Lookout, especially during sunset. It's praised as a peaceful, local getaway perfect for picnics and a refreshing escape. While parking can be limited and seating is scarce, the stunning vistas and tranquil atmosphere make it a highly recommended spot for a relaxed experience.
"Beautiful, peaceful spot with great views of Melbourne — especially at sunset. Perfect for a quick walk or just to sit and relax. Bring a mat or chair if you want to stay longer, as there’s no seating. One of my favourite local getaways!"

"Mount Cooper Lookout is the highest point in Metropolitan Melbourne giving around 270 degrees views. It is a great place to go watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. There’s not a huge amount of parking but most of the locals tend to walk there so you can usually find a spot to park as long as you don’t wait until 11:45 as it can get a little busy just before the fireworks start. There’s plenty of grass to sit on, and I’ve never seen the place too crowded so it’s a great choice if you have no plans for N.Y.E. or don’t like tight crowds. The city fireworks can be seen perfectly but if you look around you can also see some down Geelong direction, also the western suburbs and even some looking north. A great atmosphere and family friendly."
