What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Stony Creek Byfield is a beloved natural escape, praised for its stunningly clear freshwater swimming hole and the opportunity to see local wildlife like bandicoots and turtles. Visitors appreciate the affordable camping and the scenic nature walks. However, the rough road conditions leading to the creek are a common point of concern, with many recommending caution or a 4x4.
"Lovely place to stop. We stayed 1 night. As usual national parks doesn't make it very clear what the sites look like and you have to book blind. But for $7.50 a night we just booked a second spot when the first wasn't suitable. The walks were lovely and the water was crystal clear. There were tuns of little Bandicoots which was fun to see."

I highly recommend."

"Beautiful swimming spot. The water is so fresh to swim in. Nice summer escape. A lot of spots to have a little picnic or set up a camp. Great facilities. Clean toilets. We went with an old corolla, a lot of holes on the way off Byfield road, as expected but nothing that a sedan can't pass. Will definitely be back again when needing to freshen up"
