Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning, dramatic scenery of Mandu Mandu Gorge, with many highlighting the spectacular views from the rim and the unique experience of walking through the rocky creek bed. The chance to spot wildlife like rock wallabies is a significant draw. Some find the steep sections challenging, and it's noted that the gorge can get extremely hot.

"Wonderful trail! Walk up the rocky dry creek bed to have closeup views of the canyon walls, watching for posts and cairns marking the trail. We were hoping to see rock wallabies but never spotted any. 😥 Soaring birds made up for it. The trail heads up from the creek bed on the left after 20 minutes or so, climbing up with some steep sections — be careful! — to the canyon rim. Awesome views of the canyon and the ocean! The loop took us about an hour and a half, and we were really glad we did it. It’s easy to see that in the hotter parts of the year it would be really tough!"

Marsha Russell

"Really enjoyable walk with a bit of effort required on the climbs. Views along the coastline from the high point are spectacular. Look out for the Rock-wallabies watching you from the cliff faces."

Philip Paton

"We completed this hike on an overcast and slightly wet morning and thoroughly enjoyed every park of it. The route is a loop which starts and ends at the car park. The first part of the hike takes you along the base of the gorge, which is carpeted with well washed and rounded stones. If you look up you should see the black faced rock wallabies looking down at you from the cliffs. At the rear of the gorge the trail wanders through a short treed/bushy section, before it climbs up onto the top lip of the gorge. I highly recommend doing this hike."
