"We were going to Dangar falls Gorge for a drive from Armidale in May 2025. When we came across this Big Memorial for our WW1 soldiers and returned service men. I’m so glad we stopped to have a look. If you’re in the Atherton table lands. I recommend you have a look at the Memorial at Evelyn Scrub War Memorial on Jonsson Rd off Tumoulin Road. I also recommend if you are in Armidale NSW, you come to Gostwyck Chapel - All Saints Anglican Church. At Gostwyck. Which was also dedicated to the local ww1 soldiers. It’s a really pretty place out in the country. No amenities or seating. It was a beautiful place for a picnic. With plenty of shade and parking. If you’re looking for some where different to eat in Armidale. I recommend The Crepe Creperie. Very popular in the early morning. Quiet back street, with easy parking."

"Surprisingly different from the traditional war memorials and truly worth visiting. Many unique features. On the way to/from Dangar Gorge Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. Excellent displays with history of the memorial. A reminder of our colonial ties to “ mother England.’"
