Visitors consistently praise Boggo Road Gaol tours for their historical depth, engaging storytelling, and the unique atmosphere of the former prison. Guides, especially those with personal experience, are often highlighted for bringing the stories to life. Some tours, particularly the ghost tours, are noted for being long, and while atmospheric, may not always deliver intense scares for all.
"Booked and went on the ghost tour last night it was an amazing journey back in time. Great history, story telling and the atmosphere of the gaol really adds to it. Only been once before during the day for a school history excursion and both times I've had some kind of experience. If your a local or a tourist you'll really enjoy this gaol. Highly recommended A+++"

"Firstly, Heather, our tour guide were great at handling COVID19. She was ready to check-in everyone as we arrive. Check-in was really smooth and easy.
It a great place to visit and learn about the history behind the gaol. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The stories from our guide and graffiti on the walls bring us into the stories. We took our kids there to let them know how old the facilities were during the old days.
Room for improvement:
It will be better to include more areas like their kitchen, workshops, laundry, gaol guillotine and hanging area. This will take you to 5 stars ratings."

"The history tour was educational, informative and interesting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Love the stories about the famous escapologist and the black cat.
Recommended to anyone for this 90 minutes tour, tourists or local residents, to learn a slice of Brisbane jail history. You should also go to St Helena Island if you are particularly interested in jails."
