"This afternoon/evening, I went for a walk along High Street plus checked out the Canterbury Park Gardens and Lake Neangar in Eaglehawk. I'm staying here for a few nights with my parents.
The Canterbury Park Gardens reminds me of an inner city Melbourne Botanical Gardens. It's not huge but it's really beautiful. Large trees (Deodar Cedar Pine, Canary Island Date Palm) plus red and yellow tulips and a water fountain.
Further along the path, we walked past the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre on the right and a skate park on the left. And just beyond there is Lake Neangar. It's such a wonderful green space and there were plenty of locals out and about.
As well as the great variety of vegetation, I saw quite a few different bird species including Wood Ducks, Dusky Moorhens, Australasian Swamphens and Silver Gulls. There's also a public playground, outdoor gym equipment and plenty of seating around the lake."
