Visitors find Davidson Whaling Station to be a beautifully presented and historically significant site, offering a unique glimpse into the past. The tranquil natural setting and the well-maintained caretakers' cottage are frequently praised. Some visitors note that while the history is fascinating, the physical remnants of the whaling station itself are minimal, leading to a slightly underwhelming experience for those expecting more extensive structures.
"Beautiful peaceful Bay now but wouldn't have been during the days of whaling. Short dirt road to parking and trail to beach. Gorgeous caretakers cottage to see there too, you can't go in but can wander around the outside of the gardens."
Sally Robinson
"After reading so much about the operation and the people in Eden museum it was underwhelming when we got there. Some larger items around but not much more. Was expecting to see more like in the photos. The house is now lived in by a caretaker so all you can see us the exterior and read up on the Davidson family lifestyle. Would have been interesting times back then. Still worth a look."
Stephen King
"Beautifully presented..... not much remains other than the homestead but very definitely worth the effort 👌"
