Reviews Summary

Mount Amos is lauded for its absolutely spectacular, rewarding views of Wineglass Bay, making the challenging hike well worth the effort for many. Hikers praise the unique scramble and the sense of accomplishment. However, the trail's steep, slippery granite sections are a significant concern, especially in wet conditions, and require appropriate footwear and caution.

"My favorite view in Tasmania. Very easy to follow the route and it’s not long trail, can be finished around 3hrs. But don’t rush to walk especially the rock part cause it can be really slippery when the rocks wetting, or soles of your shoes getting wet so better to not get wet your shoes as much as possible. I slipped on the way back because of that.
Anyway there are some beautiful spots so take a time to enjoy these views :)"

"Fantastic hike. Amazing views.
Challenging. Steep. Slippery granite rock faces. Not safe if wet.
Make sure to wear shoes with good grip.
Requires National Parks pass. Can purchase on site.
Toilets near carpark.
We made it up and back in 3.5hrs with a lunch stop at the top."

Rachael Sayers

"Moderately difficult hike attributable to a rocky stretch about three hundred metres from the summit, which requires careful footing and balance.

Rubberized cotton gloves will improve grip and bring relief to your hands when traversing the crags.

Hiking sticks will also help take the load off your legs during the ascent and descent - so bring these along if you already have them.

A liter of water and a candy bar would suffice for the hike.

Not to be attempted in wet weather as the route will be treacherously slippery.

The summit boasts the best views of Wineglass Bay. Highly recommended."
