What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Sydney Seafood School for its high-quality ingredients, expert instruction, and fun, hands-on learning environment. The ability to create and then enjoy delicious seafood dishes is a major highlight, making it a memorable experience for all skill levels. Some minor issues with booking communication or class cancellations have been noted.
"We just wrapped up an incredible South East Asian cooking class at the Sydney Fish Markets, and it exceeded expectations. Guided by our talented head chef and instructor Michelle, the session was a perfect blend of learning, fun, and delicious food.
Michelle brought deep knowledge, patience, and energy to the session, making everyone—from beginners to more confident cooks—feel comfortable and engaged. She walked us through three standout dishes: a BBQ chilli salt squid that had the perfect balance of heat and smokiness, a crispy fried fish that was golden perfection, and a green mango salad that was vibrant, zesty, and incredibly fresh.
The ingredients were top quality (unsurprising for the Fish Markets!), the kitchen setup was professional yet welcoming, and the class had a great team-building atmosphere. Whether you're a food lover, keen home cook, or just looking for a fun experience in Sydney, this class is absolutely worth it.
Looking forward to coming back for more. Highly recommended."

"It was inspiring to create a dish under the watchful eye of Chef Vicki & her assistant chef Clare. The food/menu was appealing to most tastes especially mine. I loved every bite and had it again for dinner when I got home with my wife. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills if you are like me a home cook who replicates on line recipes. Doing it live with professionals is inspiring."

"For my 60th I was given $100 voucher. Since the voucher was about to expire, I paid the rest and booked in for the Korean class. It was cancelled due to not enough people so at a whim booked the BBQ class. The only gripe I have is that another person who attended the BBQ class mentioned she’d come as there’d been a 20% discount ($36). However, the man I spoke to on the phone failed to mention this to me when I booked the BBQ class so I missed out on the 20% discount ($36) which would have been really nice to have received. Due to this, out of principle, I won’t be returning..
The BBQ class itself, while expensive, exceeded my expectations. We cooked some flavoursome dishes, learnt new skills and I met some lovely people."
