What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Royal Hobart Showground offers a central and functional camping experience with newly renovated, clean amenities. While praised for its convenience to shops and public transport, some campers find the sites too close together, roads narrow, and the lack of trees and shade a drawback. It's a practical choice for budget travelers prioritizing location over scenic views or ample space.
"Loved my 4 nights at this Fabulous Showground. All newly renovated, ample and level sites with fake grass. Close to bus stops and easy walk to shops. Bunnings 2 mins walk Dump point and new amenities 10/10"

"Hobart really needs this place. There are so few caravan parks left. It's central, close to city bicycle track buses and shops.
pluses: water, power, level, good ensuite style bathrooms, good water pressure, laundry.
minuses: you will get to know your neighbours intimately, and driving down the streets at night will test your avoidance skills! Sites are on top of each other, roads are too narrow, longer rigs intrude on to the road, and getting on and off sites is a completely new skill test if the park is full. And not a tree in sight.
The opportunity to make a first rate park, sadly, has been missed. A tiny bit better planning and this place would be 5 stars."

"Don't book this place. Horrible experience. We stayed one night in the middle of nowhere, between buildings and construction. I dont even know how we safe that night. The toilet is soooo faraway and only 1-2 open (for the entire park)."
