It feels like time stopped here. But in the best way. There’s a stillness in the air at Historic Hartley — the kind you don’t get in cities. Just old sandstone buildings, ghost stories, and gum trees whispering in the wind. Once a busy colonial settlement, now it’s a peaceful pocket of history, just off the Great Western Highway. Most people drive past it. You? You’re gonna stop. Here’s what to do...

"OPEN during the Christmas Holidays!!
Such a beautiful and historic town, with little nooks to discover around every turn.

The Gold Rush Antique store is likely the nicest and most authentic antique store in the blue mountains, and with it’s beautiful host: is an amazing experience itself.

The short bush walk down the River Lett and the other near the Tor Rock is phenomenal. The aboriginal history transforms your perspective from the town of the 1800s to the native landscape Millenia past.

I would highly recommend taking the time to visit this site, there’s free Quoits to play too!"

Patrick Moylan

"Is a historic village that exists for more than 150 years. Walk in to the visitors reception to buy ticket $8.80 for adults, this is to access into the heritage court house and the church. Reception will give you access code to unlock the digital lock.
Also, Talisman workshop and gallery is a must to visit, many amazing hand-made art pieces. Not much people in the weekend morning. We spent 1 hour plus to visit here which including little walk to see the river and the granite rock."
