What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Ipswich General Cemetery to be a historically rich and atmospheric site, particularly praised for its well-maintained grounds and the poignant AIF Memorial Wall. While some areas, like the pioneers section, could use more attention, the overall experience is often described as a cool historical exploration, with opportunities for atmospheric photography. Occasional issues with vandalism are noted, detracting from the otherwise respectful environment.
"Broken head stones, maintained grass. Why do young people think that desecrating the resting places of those that came before is a fun thing to do? And what was with the pioneers section? Being next to the main road, it's hard to miss, but it could use a little more TLC. Give it a visit, you will see what I mean."
Ruth Mavroleon
"The new AIF Memorial Wall is excellent! The cemetery is very well kept... it is a shame that irresponsible vandals have ruined so many graves and broken headstones."
Fer Van Der Syde (Andy)
"Cool historical site with mountain view in the background. Perfect for spooky photography in cloudy rainy days."
