What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the magical and immersive experience of the Kelly Hill Caves, particularly highlighting the knowledgeable guides and the captivating light and sound show. While the cave system is not the largest, its unique presentation makes it a memorable highlight of any Kangaroo Island trip. Some visitors note the cost and limited tour availability as potential drawbacks.
"While the cave system isn't massive, it's absolutely packed with wonder. The surrounding park facilities are well-maintained, and the short walk to the cave entrance sets the scene beautifully. But the real magic begins once you're inside.
Our tour guide was fantastic — knowledgeable, engaging, and able to answer every question with ease. The highlight, though, was the light and sound show. It was honestly one of the most immersive and moving experiences I've had. The combination of narration, perfectly timed sound effects, and stunning lighting made it feel like a journey through time. I could have watched it again and again.
A must-do while on Kangaroo Island — truly unforgettable."

"This is a gem of place in Kangroo island. The experience surpassed our expectations! Very important to note that tickets need to be booked online. They have set schedules for the tour and tickets are approx $28 per person. Our tour guide was very informative, she shared how the trees retreated after the fire and story of Kelly hills cave, and its formations. The surprise is the light show. You’ll feel like you’ve been take back in time. This is a small cave compared to other caves in Australia. But a lovely experience. If you like to go on hiking trails that’s also available in the surrounding areas"

"A natural phenomenon... for those willing to pay. A whopping $82 for a family of 4 (kids all need to be paid for with no age free). Limited availability on tours and you can not access the caves without a guide as they are locked. Very dissapointing for those travelling on a budget or not having booked in advance"
