"About 10km or 15 min south of Kalgoorlie. Sign posted and easily found. Quality road all the way in. No worries for 2WD and 5th wheelers. There is a single toilet at the end of the road before you drive off onto the dirt. Massive massive area to camp and no need to camp near others. A few fireplaces and picnic tables dotted around the area. Nice and quiet and as no neighbours could run the generator without issue. The area is solid ground and flat. Great to save a few $$ to free camp so close to Kal. No rubbish bins or water so take out what you bring in.
Can recommend.

Not too many campers"

"Lovely place to stop over. The Road in is really corrugated, and the gravel is huge, the stuff big trucks pick their teeth with. Ha.
I nearly changed my mind 3 times but happy I didnt. Nice area to camp a few nights and take some walks.
There's no water here, but I think there's a dump point."

Camping at Lake Douglas
While the reserve offers a peaceful escape, it's important to be prepared for the minimal facilities. There are no rubbish bins or water sources, so visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles by packing in and packing out everything they bring. A single toilet is available, but beyond that, self-sufficiency is key.
The road access is generally manageable for 2WD vehicles, though some sections can be corrugated and gravelly. Driving cautiously is recommended, especially as you get closer to the camping spots. Understanding the Lake's Condition
When the lake is dry, the landscape transforms into an open, arid terrain. This doesn't detract from the camping experience for many, as the focus remains on the tranquility and the vastness of the area. Photographers might find interesting textures and light on the dry lakebed, while campers can enjoy the expansive views.
