"K’gari is one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been. The sheer scale of the island and its variety of landscapes are mind-blowing — rainforest growing on sand, endless beaches, and freshwater lakes that look unreal. Driving along 75 Mile Beach with waves breaking beside you is unforgettable, and swimming in Lake McKenzie was an absolute highlight.
The island feels both wild and peaceful at the same time, with so many unique spots to explore — from Eli Creek to the Maheno wreck and the coloured sands of the Pinnacles. Seeing dingoes in their natural habitat was amazing too. Whether you’re camping, touring by 4WD, or just soaking in the views, K’gari is a true bucket-list experience that stays with you long after you leave."

"Take a day trip to K'gari with a tour from one of the nearby towns or self drive if you have a 4x4 drive. You can even stay over night on the island camping or staying in one of the apartmentsin the village. You will definitely need time as the island is large enough and driving is slow. There areca lot of nice things to check out, like a river, the beach, the forest, ..You will see wild dingos, and other animals along the way. Fill up before you go, gas is very expensive on the island and supplies are limited."
