However, the rough access road and the need for a beach driving permit are key considerations.

"What a stunning place to enjoy the Great Outdoors. If this attraction was in any other country it would be completely overrun by tourists. As it stands, we didn't see another person for miles."

"Limeburners is yet another example of Australias wonderful National Parks.
Set on the southern side of Crescent Head it isnt accessible by any form of public transport, and the road in can get pretty rough. In fact locals have a campaign going to ensure the Council doesnt tar the road!
Head in and stay at Melaleuca Camp ground for under $25/ night (2 people, off season) and the Managers can also sell you a Park Pass which you WILL need!
Lots of rainforest walks, such as Big Hill, with an abundance of wildlife."

Navigating the Roads to Point Plomer

The journey to Point Plomer is part of the adventure, but it requires preparation. The road from Crescent Head is unsealed and can be quite rough, with corrugations being a common feature. Locals have even expressed a desire to keep it this way, valuing its natural state over pavement. For this reason, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended to navigate the terrain comfortably and safely, especially if you encounter wet conditions. Standard 2WD vehicles may struggle, and damage is a risk. Always check local conditions before you set off.

Beyond the main access road, beach driving is a popular activity at Queens Head Beach. However, this is strictly regulated. You must obtain a beach driving permit before heading onto the sand. This permit ensures responsible use of the coastal environment. Driving is only permitted at low tide, so planning your visit around the tide times is crucial for accessing this particular area. Always be mindful of other beach users and wildlife.

Key Takeaway: Prioritize vehicle suitability and permit acquisition for a smooth and legal experience at Point Plomer. The rough roads and beach driving regulations are significant factors to consider for any visitor. Reddit
