What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Sheoak Picnic Area as a beautiful and serene spot, perfect for picnics and as a trailhead for stunning waterfall hikes. The lush greenery, flowing creek, and abundant birdlife are frequently praised, though the muddy trails and dusty access roads are noted drawbacks.
"This was quite honestly one of the nicest picnic areas I've ever been to, with a couple of good hikes nearby. This place was so nice that I even took a picture, which is not something I often do. Enjoy the lush plant life, the flowing creek, and fresh air."
Brodie Lawrence
"A secluded picnic spot under the majestic mountain ash in the Great Otway National Park. In summer, the buzz of cicadas dominate the canopy, whilst the calls of various songsters can be heard in the picnic area. Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Australian King-Parrot, Bassian Thrush, and Gang-gang Cockatoo can all be seen in the picnic ground itself. Facilities include many picnic tables (along with dried moss and lichen on the wood), a barbecue, and toilets. A caveat: All tracks which lead to the campground itself are dirt and gravel; cars will undergo a dusty shower, along with mild wear to the tyres."

"Such a precious picnic spot. Surrounded by beautiful tall trees and multiple bbq and seating areas. I loved how the sun broke through the treetops and created the most beautiful display of light"
