Reviews Summary

Gerrards Lookout is a highly recommended, free scenic stop offering stunning panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast coastline and hinterland. Visitors appreciate the expansive vistas and the opportunity to witness paragliders. Some find the limited shade, seating, and parking to be minor drawbacks, suggesting it's best as a brief, scenic pause rather than a destination in itself.

"The view is absolutely stunning, and you can really feel the cool, refreshing breeze. A nice little spot to stretch your legs, take some photos, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through!"

Sandeep

"Gerard’s Lookout is one of those hidden-gem stops along the Blackall Range tourist drive that you really shouldn’t miss. Perched high above the Sunshine Coast hinterland, it offers sweeping, uninterrupted views all the way out to the coastline, with lush valleys and rolling hills in between. On a clear day, you can see for miles – perfect for photography or just taking in the fresh mountain air.
There’s a reasonably-sized parking area, making it easy to pull over straight off the road.
It’s not a large attraction, so you won’t spend more than 15–20 minutes here unless you’re picnicking, but as a scenic stop, it’s excellent. The only reason I’ve given it four stars instead of five is that there’s limited shade and seating, so on hot days it can get warm quickly.
If you’re exploring the hinterland between Maleny and Montville, Gerard’s Lookout is the perfect spot to pause, stretch your legs, and soak up one of the best views in the region. The land for the Lookout was donated by the Gerard family. That is where the name comes from."

Pretty strong wind when we were there.
Worth a visit if you’re on the route"
