What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hangover Bay is praised for its stunning turquoise waters, abundant marine life, and suitability for kitesurfing. Visitors appreciate the clean facilities and ample parking, though some note summer winds and seasonal seaweed. It's a beautiful, peaceful spot for swimming and picnics.
"This place is incredibly beautiful all round. If you visit in the second half of the year there’s a beautiful white powdery sand beach with the most beautiful bay for swimming very wide and great for some laps. If you’re there in the first half of the year you may find quite a bit of seaweed but the water is still clear for swimming.
It’s an absolutely gorgeous walk from where the parking and amenities are all the way round to the north. If you sit on the beach, you’ll find that there’s parrots and finches and wagtails.
All very friendly !
Perfectly kept toilets, parking for motorhomes as well as cars and large vehicles and toilets, including for the disabled."

"Hangover Bay is a fantastic place for a stopover, with well-maintained toilets and BBQ areas that make for a comfortable visit. Plenty of space for caravans, so parking isn’t an issue.
Be mindful if visiting in summer—it gets super windy! Also, note that camping isn’t allowed.
One of the highlights? The marine life! I’ve spotted seals here, along with plenty of other fascinating creatures in the waters. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!"

"It was a small but decent bay not built with much facilities. The beach was quite clean at first sight.
The public toilet next to the beach had no water supply during my visit due to potential bee hazards."
