What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Science Space Wollongong offers a fun, interactive experience for families, with many hands-on exhibits and engaging planetarium shows. While some exhibits show their age and maintenance could be improved, the value for money and the joy it brings to children are consistently praised. It's a worthwhile stop for a day of educational exploration.
"Really fun and unique experience both for young and young at heart. We really enjoyed the activities. My 2 year old was so happy to do all the fun science activities."
Jericho
"Bit of a poor man's Questacon, but enjoyable for adults as much as the kids. The equipment is old and dusty and not very inviting to touch, particularly because we only saw one anti bacterial dispenser in the whole centre. Some general maintenance to stations wouldn't hurt as everything looks old and tired.
The information sheets on each station were very heavy on writing, which isnt ideal for kids and printed in small text on dark background making it very hard to read (and completely useless in the low lit rooms!)
It wasnt clear where the cafe was, was it onsite? We didnt bother trying to find it.
Good use of "play space" for younger kids. We particularly enjoyed the magnetic tiles. More activities for toddlers would be good such as colouring or building blocks.
Free carpark at weekends was a plus. Worth a stop if youre in the area, but would have been disappointed if I'd travelled from Sydney for this."

"This place still has the exact same equipment and activities that were being used when I was a child more than 2 decades ago! 😣
Many of them were not working during our visit, which was unfortunate, but not the end of the world.
What was important was that the little one enjoyed themselves, which they definitely did.
Enormous amount of things in the gift shop, but ridiculously overpriced.
$15 for a basic mug? No thanks!"
