The National Archives of Australia is one of our most important cultural institutions — not only preserving Australia’s memory, but also sharing it with us all. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the National Archives of Australia for its thoughtfully curated, free exhibitions that offer a fascinating glimpse into Australia's history. The interactive displays and significant historical documents are highlights, though some find the pre-paid parking system inconvenient. The peaceful atmosphere and interesting architecture also contribute to a positive experience.

"A fascinating and neatly presented glimpse into Australia's history.

The free exhibitions are thoughtfully curated and well-balanced. One highlight was the huge interactive touchscreens that let you explore historical photos with descriptions (video).

The space itself is well laid out, peaceful, and easy to navigate, making it a great place to spend a quiet hour.

The cafe has the standard cafe food and has a pretty neat and relaxing space within the building. Outdoor parking spaces next to the entrance via Wilson Parking."

"A small but interesting museum, the National Archives of Australia is home to the original constitution documents. Thanks to staff member Katiya for taking us to the gallery and showing them to us (they are hidden to prevent light damage). We came to see the exhibition 'Camels Trains to Steel Wheels' highlighting history of the train line that would link Perth to Sydney. Had to rush a 1 hour visit again because of the expensive pre paid parking situation where you arent sure how long you are going to spend in a museum and have to guess so you dont end up making a free donation to the council."

Timeshare Chinchilla

"At the time of review, the NAA was showing the Australian Geographic - Nature Photographer of the Year which showed Mother Nature at her finest and definitely worth a visit. There are 2 permanent exhibitions Voices and Connections, both really interesting so take some time and explore. You will definitely learn more about Australia’s past. If visiting on the weekend, there is free parking next door."
