Fantastic stop after leaving Kings Canyon, Curtin Springs Station, a huge cattle station which also provides a paper making tour using the natural grasses and botanicals of the station. Very informative, lotsa fun, there’s a rather cute gift shop of course and little studio showcasing how the paper is then turned into art pieces and jewellery by their creative daughter. And you also get to learn ...

Reviews Summary

Curtin Springs Station offers a raw, authentic outback experience with unique attractions like its paper-making workshop and proximity to Mt. Conner. While some visitors praise the friendly staff and genuine station life, others highlight concerns about outdated facilities and high prices for basic amenities, suggesting it's best for those seeking a rustic adventure over luxury.

"We stayed on an unpowered site, and the best way I can describe it is everything works, it's just needs updating. The site itself was good. It's a desert, you bring your own shade. The toilets flush but the block is rusting out and feels like a strong breeze might blow it down. The shower was hot and the pressure was great but the head was sitting around my chest height (paying for it was fine seeing the site was free). And it they are going to update stuff maybe calling Uluru by it's name in the brochure as well"

"If you can't survive without 5-star accommodation and food with all the bells and whistles, then Curtin Springs is not for you. Stay at Yulara - it's typical of 5-star resorts around the world. Curtin Springs, on the other hand, provides an excellent opportunity to experience the Australian outback way of life. With a car, it is within reach of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, as well as King’s Canyon. The accommodation is comfortable, the food is home-made and delicious (the toasted bacon & egg sandwiches make the best breakfast!), the staff are helpful and friendly and are happy to chat. The family is always willing to discuss life on a large cattle station, including its many opportunities and challenges. Staying at Curtin Springs also provides an excellent opportunity to support the local cattle industry, which helps to feed the country."

"We chose to stay here rather than at Uluru Resort. It’s a little farther away, but absolutely worth it.
The showers were clean and inexpensive, and the staff behind the bar and serving dinner were absolutely lovely.
The sunset from here was phenomenal.
Do yourself a favor and order the veggie soup!"
