Reviews Summary
Visitors find Kitty Miller Bay and the SS Speke shipwreck a fascinating historical site, especially when accessed at low tide. The shipwreck offers a tangible connection to the past, though the terrain can be challenging with steep, rocky paths. Some visitors noted it felt less safe arriving later in the day or during winter.
"Beautiful place, have to come back to get a closer look, I don't know if its because we arrived later in afternoon or because its winter, just didn't feel safe going all the way down. It is possible we followed the wrong path, we followed a grassy path that took us up then you had to go back down a muddy path to the shipwreck...."

"What an awesome piece of history! Easily accessible along a short track from car park: down to the beach and walk left over a little rise and there it is - resting where it's laid since 1906. The rusted and broken up iron pieces are a tangible and visual connection with the past, especially for little kids to imagine such a majestic vessel now run aground. Best to go at low tide when you can easily walk all around it."

"It is at around 30 minutes walk from the Kitty Miller Bay carpark. Worth doing it. There is not much left of the ship, the ship remains are being eaten away by the salty ocean. Could be a great sunset view."
