What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Shady Camp for its incredible barramundi fishing and abundant wildlife, particularly crocodiles and birds. The stunning sunsets are also a highlight. However, many warn of intense mosquito and midge populations, and the unsealed road can be challenging. Some find the wildlife viewing disappointing if expecting large crocs, and the insect nuisance can detract from the experience.
"No big crocodiles. Saw only one dwarf freshies which is miserably small. And the place is full of mosquitos, was badly stung. And flies are everywhere. Keep buzzing into our nose and ear. The road heafing in is unsealed, muddy and slippery. It’s a hassle to be there and not worthy just to see a dwarf croc."

"Loved the area. Had a great time except for the mozzies and midges. They were so bad. Would go to bed in tent early at 7pm just to get away from them. Managed to see crocs from the observation deck"

"Great place to fish for barra but people got to stick to the rules of no TREBLES hooks and just make sure you bring bushman insects spray too"
