Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Mount William for its breathtaking summit views and the rewarding hike. The well-maintained, sealed path makes it accessible, though the steady incline requires a moderate fitness level. Some note the wind at the top, recommending a jacket, and many highlight its potential as a prime stargazing location.

"We’ve been coming to the Grampians for years but never had a chance to do this hike before. It is well worth the 2km hike up to the summit from the carpark. The round trip should take about 90 mins. The views are breathtaking at the top, and even better on the way down. Be aware the hike can be challenging depending on your fitness level. It’s a steady gradient up a sealed path. Take a jacket as it can be windy and chilly towards the summit. Once you get to the radio tower, walk past the fence and climb a few rocks to get to the summit. Do not miss this one!"

"The highest peak in GramPians and by far the best view and trekking experience in Grampians / Halls Gap. Most of the journey can be done by car and then you reach a parking spot to finish the rest by foot. The trek is a bit steep and is nearly 2 kms.

Nevertheless, the top view is absolutely worth it. You can view the whole of Grampians mountain ranges along with the surrounding plain lands. The air is fresh, gentle breeze and an amazing spot for star photography if visiting at night."

"Beautiful views during the walk and at the top. Fully bitumen road with a steady incline. 1.9km to the top so 3.8km return. I went first thing in the morning (in December so summer) and it was great cause I was in the shade of the mountain for the majority of the walk and I only crossed paths with a handful of people on my way back down."
