What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Manly Wormhole as a spectacular hidden gem, offering dramatic ocean views and a unique tunnel experience. The raw power of the waves and the salty spray create a magical atmosphere, especially at sunrise. While the walk is short and the scenery beautiful, caution is advised due to the rocky, potentially slippery terrain and cliff edge.
"We did around low tide on a weekday morning from the Manly/Queenscliff end. Not busy, no risk of waves. Tunnel fully accessible. Walk to end of swimming pool for easy step onto rocks. Need to exercise care and a few large rocks to traverse. Once through, good views to the far end of Freshwater. We were short on time so couldn’t go all the way, but would be a decent rock scramble to Freshwater beach."

"The scenery on both sides of the tunnel is beautiful. Although the route is short and not very rough, it is on the edge of a cliff, so caution is advised when traveling. It's best to visit on a sunny day to avoid slippery terrain. Suggest to visit during low tide to reduce the chance of large waves. A sun hat is recommended, it not only provides some protection from minor collisions, but also protects against water dripping from the tunnel."

"If you’re in the area visiting the beach, this is definitely a worthwhile detour. It’s just a short walk along the rocks, and the waves crashing up make it extra fun—everyone enjoyed trying to dodge the splashes. A quick stop that adds a little adventure to your day!"
