What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Tasmania Zoo for its friendly staff, diverse animal collection, and engaging interactive experiences, particularly the kangaroo feeding. Many feel it offers great value and a sanctuary-like atmosphere, though some note that enclosures could be more modern. The student ID issue was a minor point of contention for one reviewer.
"We had an awesome morning at the Tassie Zoo. We went all out and booked a Meerkat experience as well. The Zoo has a great variety of animals, they were very close and easy to see, easy to follow the map and our son loved the 2 young dingoes. You can hand feed the kangaroos & wallabies in one section and then the farm animals further along. The only animal not on show during our visit were the capybaras. We also enjoyed the gift shop and picked up a few Knick knacks for ur family and friends."

"This is the perfect family owned zoo. The staff are lovely, it isn’t overpriced, there is so much to look at and there is endless animal experiences. My family and I went during the week and did 17 experiences total between the four of us. We had booked the experiences the night before and our experiences ended up going from 11am-3pm initially however, the lovely woman at the front desk offered us to change this so it was more convenient for us. We got to do ALL our experiences together as a family through the morning with another lovely young lady. We got to pat, feed and cuddle with our animals and spend quality time with them. There wasn’t one inch of this zoo where there wasn’t animals, you can clearly see them through their enclosures as well. There is a variety of animals to hand feed, you can get up close to sheep, llamas, emus, wallaby’s, a donkey and kangaroos. Highly recommended this as a must visit. 💯😁"

"The zoo has a lot of animals, some native and a lot of exotic animals, especially monkeys. The enclosures are not fancy but they do the job and you can see most of the animals quite well. The zoo did not accept our student cards as there was no expiration date on it even though we were able to show our official enrollment letters with dates of enrollment, which was a bit disappointing."
