Learning to sail?

Greetings! I am new in town and I am looking to find some new hobbies. While catching the ferry to Manly today I saw heaps of sail boats and yachts on the water. Looks like fun! Any recommendations for places/schools to learn to sail? Thanks!

While facilities are generally clean, minor wear is noted in some shower areas. It's a highly recommended spot for learning to sail and hosting family events.

"Great experience at the sailing club wonderful staff and great community! Their boats are in good condition the instructors are clear and straightforward! Nicole was incredibly helpful! The changing rooms are clean and in pristine condition although some damage to the showers is visible the showers are nice and warm. The kid friendliness is great as Lyme park is right next to the club so the little ones can play and enjoy themselves! For the adults there are multiple restaurants nearby and for easy accessibility there is a ferry wharf very close to the club for those who live far away. There is also a very nice view from the top floor! They also offer many many academy’s and classes! Overall 9/10 would come again and would recommend"

"We recently set up our soft play and balloon backdrop to this venue for our client’s son’s first birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The team - especially Nicole - was fantastic, offering so much help beforehand by advising on the best access points (which really prepared us going in with those flight of stairs!!)

The space itself was just perfect: clean, spacious, beautifully laid out for kids’ events, and with a stunning view that was an added bonus.

As a business that specialises in soft play, balloon backdrops, jumping castles and bubble domes, we truly appreciate venues that make the whole process so seamless. Set up and pack down were an absolute breeze.

Highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a children’s party or special celebration!"

"What a classic community sailing club. They put everything into making it a fabulous place to sail.
Small craft are their things. They run a fabulous sailing school for kids and adults. Beginners to advanced with dedicated instructors and crew.
If you are looking for something different to do with your kids. Give it a go.
Easy to get to by ferry from Circular Quay (wharf2).
This year they have an open day on Oct 7 so get on down and set your sights on a far horizon."
