What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park for its incredible opportunities to interact closely with native Australian animals, especially the koala holding and kangaroo feeding experiences. The staff's friendliness and dedication to animal welfare are frequently highlighted. However, some guests express concerns about the ethical implications of animal enclosures and paid interactions, viewing it more as a zoo than a purely natural wildlife sanctuary.
"We did the day tour to Kangaroo Island with SeaLink and were hoping to see wildlife on the island. Unfortunately we barely saw any, but the tour took us to this "wildlife park". It is not a wildlife park, it is simply said a zoo.
Most of the animals are kept in cages, and the zoo allows humans to touch the animals, even holding a koala for a fee. Even though it was great to see the animals up close, we felt bad for the animals and felt unethical.
The staff was very friendly and nice though, and seemed to care about the animals."

"Paid for the private tour - did not disappoint. Learnt a lot about their rescue work and got to meet a lot of the animals up close and feed them breakfast. What an amazing experience - would love to come back and do it again."
