What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently rave about the exceptional hospitality of host Jerome and the serene, natural beauty of Pelican Point Sanctuary. The well-equipped and comfortable accommodation, coupled with abundant wildlife, makes for a highly recommended and relaxing getaway. Many visitors extend their stays and plan return visits.
"The host, Jerome, was extremely helpful and polite. The service awesome, the location excellent, and the amenities superb. Heard a Tasmanian Devil on the first night and saw heaps of birds of all different types. Was told there was a platypus in the lake but, sadly, we didn't see it. We're definitely coming back!"

"This place is an utter delight. We normally seek accommodation in the centre of towns within walking distance to restaurants, bars and amenities. We are so glad we decided to stay at Pelican Sanctuary instead. The cottages are clean, beautifully appointed with high quality kitchen equipment, filtered water tap, generous supplies of condiments and bathroom supplies, comfortable beds and stunning views out over the property which was gloriously lush and green for our stay. We booked for 1 night and ended up staying for 4, partly because the weather was poor and mostly because we felt so at home. There are ducks on the pond, a variety of bird life (all identifiable using the bird book on the coffee table) and other wildlife. Just a few minutes to town for a meal or to ride the incredible mountain bike trails at St Helens or to zip in and grab some fresh oysters and lobster to enjoy with a glass of wine on your private balcony at Pelican Sanctuary. The host, Jerome, was exceptional in his hospitality - friendly, welcoming and generous. He even offered us an extra night free of charge due to the heavy rain. Sadly we were unable to accept as we needed to move on. We highly recommend a stay here."

"My partner and I just spent a very relaxing week at Pelican Point Sanctuary in St Helen’s, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. This was our second stay, and just like the first time, we absolutely loved it. The birdlife is incredible, with a variety of species around, and we enjoyed the peaceful, natural surroundings. There are also fantastic walks nearby, offering a chance to explore the local landscape and take in the stunning views.
The accommodation is excellent—spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a stress-free stay. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The sanctuary itself offers a sense of seclusion, yet it’s just a short walk to the charming town of St Helen’s, which is full of local character and offers everything you need for a relaxed stay.
Jerome, the host, was incredibly welcoming and hospitable, always ready with recommendations and a friendly chat. His attention to detail made all the difference, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be returning for a third visit!
If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway with stunning birdlife, beautiful walks, and a welcoming host, Pelican Point Sanctuary is the perfect choice. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature."
