Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the stunning alpine scenery and the rewarding hike to Mount Kosciuszko, noting the accessibility via chairlift. However, some express frustration with unexpected trail closures due to hunting and issues with parking enforcement and signage at specific locations like Guthega.

"We visited to hike the tallest mountain in Australia! Coming from the Rocky Mountains in the states, we found the hike itself to be very gentle and easy. Great accommodations and facilities! It was a great experience and we met people from all over the world!!"

Emily Feldkamp

"Be careful where you park at Guthega as they are doing revenue raising and scamming people out of $152 (edit: the fine is actually $300, thankfully they messed up and put $152 on my ticket so I was able to dispute the $300 they charged me and only pay $152. I was up there on the weekend again and people were still parking in the no parking area, they must have scammed a few hundred thousand this season). All the while letting people park in the middle of the road blocking it, the place is run by a bunch of monkeys I think. Maybe make it more obvious and out a sign that there is a large fine for parking in the wrong spot. Or maybe do what every other ski resort does and have someone out there managing traffic in the morning. It's really misleading as there is a sign saying no parking overnight which makes you think parking in the no parking spot is just not allowed overnight."

Daniel Scheuch

"Incredibly disappointing for 99% of all trails and hiking areas to be closed for 2 weeks for hunting.
Happy to take your money to enter the park, with kiosk attendants able to advise you on areas of the park that are open, only to arrive at multiple sites for them to be very clearly shut.
Baffled as to why so much of the area has to be shut for 2 weeks. Given the scale of the park surely this could be broken up, giving tourists whom have travelled very far to get here, the opportunity to at least explore a few of the trails.
Information on closed areas incredibly hard to access. So much so that the people who work for the park themselves cannot accurately advise.
NSW needs to do better."
