Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Pylon Lookout for its incredible value and breathtaking panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge. Many highlight it as a fantastic, budget-friendly alternative to the more expensive BridgeClimb, offering a historical glimpse into the bridge's construction. Some note the 200-stair climb can be a workout, but the payoff is well worth the effort.

"One of the best viewpoint in Sydney. Plus if you’re an history enthusiast this place also got the museum in it with details about the Sydney harbour bridge.
The 200 steps to climb will be nothing once you see the view up there. You can see an absolutely stunning 360 view. Harbour bridge on one side the paramatta river to the opera house and full view of the city just absolutely for a cost of nearly 30 dollars. Absolutely worth it!!!!
Student get even a further 6 dollar discount so make sure to take your student ID. (As of 28th August the student price was 23.95)

The bridge climb for 360+ dollars is really a waste comparing to the views here you can get for a cheap price of 30 dollars. Yes the bridge climb is a different experience to gain but the price is just toooo much. So this pylon lookout is the ideal spot for you to get amazing views and enjoy the cool breeze up there. Make sure to check the weather before going up there."

Rashin Kannangara

"The view is magnificent, especially on a sunny day. However, I feel the admission fee of almost AUD 30 per person is rather expensive. The museum itself is small, primarily recounting the history of the bridge, information readily available online. From the viewpoint, one can see the Circular Quay area, the Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you have the funds, a visit is worthwhile; otherwise, taking pictures from the bridge itself provides a similar perspective."

Tony Chote

"At a large fraction of the price of the bridge climb this alternate offers most 360° views of the harbour and surrounds.

Access the south east pylon via the bridge walkway.
Monday night it was open to 6pm, so perfect to watch day turn to night.
There is a little cafe selling drinks almost at the top.

Good views, well worth the visit."

The Pylon Lookout isn't just about the views; it's also a journey into the past. The climb takes you through the South-East Pylon, one of the four massive concrete and granite pylons that support the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Instagram

Inside, you'll discover a small museum that chronicles the incredible story of the bridge's construction. Through displays of photographs, artifacts, and informative panels, you can learn about the engineering challenges, the thousands of workers involved, and the historical significance of this monumental project. It offers a unique perspective on how this iconic landmark came to be. Instagram
