We took the Kosciuszko Chairlift and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The ride was smooth, relaxing, and the views were absolutely breathtaking — endless mountain ranges, crisp air, and picture-perfect scenery in every direction.
It’s a must-do if you’re visiting the Snowy Mountains. The chairlift is well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s the best way to take in the beauty of the area without rushing. We’ll definitely do it again next time we’re here!

"The climb to the top of Australia is an amazing experience. The chairlift ride from Thredbo is pretty expensive, but a terrific experience in itself.
If you like a small challenge and love wide open natural spaces, this hike is highly achievable and deeply fulfilling.
Recommended for most as the pathway is ideal for walking. Lots of kids can make it too. There are slopes but nothing severe. Just gentle ramps on pretty even grades.
Be careful though, it's only a short (12km) hike but the weather conditions up top are often dramatically different from the bottom of the Thredbo chair. I highly recommend you check this situation out as the result will have a significant difference to the enjoyment of your hike.
